Director’s Note

It was a tedious process to work on the script for Crossroads as it entailed extensive research about sex workers and their ordeals to be incorporated into the play to enhance realism and yet infuse dramatic impact. What propelled me to bring this story out in public was the unspoken truth, the dark side of the profession of sex workers and their dilemma concerning their family members. It was stimulating to explore the choices and rights of an individual which get fogged in modern society and loss of sense of right and wrong beyond recognition and its unacceptable irrelevance. It was complicated to bring out the concept of euthanasia as murder wrapped under the disguise of mercy killing, relief and justice. It was challenging to make the production simple, entertaining, engaging and yet blow a punch without any ludicrous elements to maintain elegance and panache.
