The play “Infiltration” tells the story of a peaceful, self sufficient Adivasi village, living in harmony with nature and their traditional beliefs. Their kindness is exploited when four humble-seeming outsiders are allowed to stay. Initially, the villagers share their land, food, water, and firewood generously. However, the outsiders slowly become dependent, then start questioning and mocking the Adivasi customs. This gradual encroachment turns into exploitation when they demand the villagers’ crops and, later, take control of most resources. They divide the community by introducing new beliefs and influencing the youth to forget their heritage. The turning point is the outsiders’ attempt to seize the Adivasis’ most sacred ritual site—the very symbol of their identity. This threat awakens the villagers. The elders unite the people, who realize that their kindness was mistaken for weakness. They rise up with courage and unity, deciding to fight back to defend their land, culture, and faith. The play is a powerful message about the dangers of cultural invasion and the importance of unity in protecting one’s ancestral roots against forces of greed and colonization

Director’s Note
The play Infiltration beautifully explores how power slowly takes over innocence. What attracted me most is the writer’s symbolic way of showing how outsiders enter a peaceful village—first asking for space, then food, water, and finally everything. This gradual takeover reflects how the powerful control the powerless, not suddenly but silently. Nature plays an important role here. The elements—earth, water, fire, and air —belong to everyone, yet they are used as tools of domination. I liked how the playwright connects human greed with the destruction of harmony. The climax is very symbolic—it shows that when people are suppressed beyond a point, there comes a moment when they react, they rise. This truth is universal. Through my direction, I tried to express these emotions using GOAN FOLK DANCE and movement, showing how the loss of nature and freedom leads to resistance. Infiltration reflects today’s world too.
